Ultimate Texas Holdem is a house-banked table game: you build a hand from two hole cards and five shared cards, and the only opponent is the dealer. What sets it apart is the raise decision, because you can add your Play bet before the flop, after the flop or at the very end. How Ultimate Texas Holdem plays against the dealer
The hand always runs in the same order. Follow it once on paper and the screen will make sense.
- Place an Ante and a Blind of the same size. Both are compulsory. An optional Trips side bet may sit next to them.
- You and the dealer each receive two hole cards. Yours are face up to you, the dealer’s stay hidden.
- Pre-flop decision: check, or raise 3x or 4x your Ante.
- Three community cards (the flop) are dealt. If you checked, you may raise 2x your Ante now.
- The last two community cards (turn and river) are dealt together. If you have still not raised, you must make a 1x Play bet or fold.
- The dealer’s cards turn over and each side’s best five of the seven cards decides the hand.
When can you raise in Ultimate Texas Holdem
Only one raise is allowed per hand, and it gets smaller the later you leave it. Waiting costs you the bigger multiple but shows you more cards.

Here is a worked example with round numbers, not a table limit. You post ₱100 on the Ante and ₱100 on the Blind. A 4x raise before the flop adds ₱400, so ₱600 sits on the layout. Waiting until the end and raising 1x would total ₱300.
Your starting hand is one of 1,326 pairs of cards (52 times 51 divided by 2). A pocket pair can be dealt 78 ways, so it shows up on about 5.9 percent of deals. Suited non-pairs come 312 ways (23.5 percent) and offsuit non-pairs 936 ways (70.6 percent). Most deals are therefore an offsuit hand with no pair, and those are the ones where the choice to wait matters.
How the dealer qualifies and how your bets settle
The dealer needs a pair or better to qualify. That one rule decides what happens to the Ante.

On a win with less than a straight, the Blind pushes rather than pays. The size of the Blind payout and of the Trips side bet changes from table to table, so open the paytable on the table itself and read it before you bet. That screen is the only place the figure for your table is printed.

FAQ
Can I raise more than once in Ultimate Texas Holdem?
No. You make one Play bet per hand. If you check before the flop you may still raise 2x after it, and if you check again you get one last 1x raise or a fold.
What happens to my Ante and Blind if I fold?
Both are lost. Folding is only possible instead of the Play bet, so the cost of a fold is always the Ante plus the Blind.
Does the dealer need a hand to play?
The dealer qualifies with a pair or better. When the dealer does not qualify, your Ante pushes and the Play and Blind bets still settle against the dealer's hand.
